About Queer America Clothing

Welcome to Queer America!

Queer America Clothing is a clothing brand to help cultivate and empower the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer community. It was built over a weekend in 2016 after being upset about something our then-president said. That burst of anger was funneled into creating cute t-shirts! 🏳️‍🌈

Queer America is run by Julie and Kyle. Both part of the LGBTQ+ queer community and originally from the east coast before relocating to Colorado. However, they found each other through volunteering at The Center on Colfax in 2017 and have been best friends since. Julie built the shop and has been designing the shirts. Kyle is the marketing master and manages the messaging.

The reason for Queer America is to help empower the LGBTQ+ community, learn how we give back to our community here. I (Julie), have roots in serving the community. I'm a believer in building others up for the greater good of the group. I'm also a believer in "creating something out of nothing". I have nothing to give you. But I do have passion, and I know how to build websites. With the community in mind, I wanted to build something that would put a smile on peoples faces, take pride in their identity, and not be afraid to be out about it.
